10 Jun Desi Pubs
Creative Black Country developed a pilot project that we were fortunate to do the photography for. The projects’ focus was on Desi pubs in the black Country. To get things started we were asked to create environmental portraits of customers and staff at the Prince of Wales pub here in West Bromwich. This meant creating portraits that would be exhibited at an events night as part of the Alchemy Festival. The night was headlined by local comedians Mickey Sharma and James Cook. It was a fantastic night, laughs were had by all and the portraits went down a treat.
The Alchemy festival is an Annual event of ‘music, dance, talks, theatre, comedy, storytelling, art and design from the UK and South Asia’, traditionally held at the Southbank Centre in London, this year it was brought up and toured around different venues in the Black Country.
